This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a significant contribution to public transport, and the quality of life, in London and the UK as a whole. On the 5th October 2007, Prime Minister Gordon Brown gave Crossrail the go-ahead by announcing that a funding package had been agreed between the Department for Transport, the Mayor of London and London business. Heads of Terms relating to this agreement were published on 19 November 2007. Whilst the project will remain the joint responsibility of the Mayor of London and the Secretary of State for Transport as Sponsors, Cross London Rail Links Ltd will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Transport for London once Royal Assent is granted to the Crossrail Bill and the various governing agreements have been executed. The Bill has successfully completed its passage through the House of Commons and is now before the House of Lords. Though Cross London Rail Links Ltd will be owned by TfL, It will be a separate business unit whose autonomy to deliver Crossrail as specified by the joint sponsors will be guaranteed in the governing agreement. Our reasons for recruiting an NED is to make us more attractive to venture capitalist/ business angel investors. We need to move away from the family run lifestyle business to a formal structure/business model, as a result any appointments will be subject to us achieving investment. We are importers and distributors of chemicals and cleaning solutions, specialising in the automotive industry. We have exclusive distribution rights for Smartwax, a truly unique range of car care products aimed at the retail market. Smartwax was launched by us in the UK June 2006, since then we have recruited over 60 resellers and forecast 130 by the end of 2007.Ideally the candidate would have a good knowledge of the automotive aftermarket/accessory industry, a good track record and a strong financial or marketing background (or all of the above). In return we will be willing to negotiate a generous remuneration package, retainer, shares combination etc. We also have access to a wide range of other products, so future expansion opportunities are plentiful.
