I run a family owned business established for 28 years and have (2nd generation), until recently the company was fairly small but I have big ambitions and have since developed the company to the stage where we are ready for serious growth. At the same time we have been hit by the economic downturn and I would appreciate good advice to help me through these tough times. The reason I am interested in a NED is down to the fact that although I have been running the company for some time now, I have no other “experience” in business as my whole working life has been with the family company. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a significant contribution to public transport, and the quality of life, in London and the UK as a whole. The Bill has successfully completed its passage through the House of Commons and is now before the House of Lords. Though Cross London Rail Links Ltd will be owned by TfL, It will be a separate business unit whose autonomy to deliver Crossrail as specified by the joint sponsors will be guaranteed in the governing agreement.
